One morning Squib was awakened by a cold draft.  She was gone!  He scanned the meadow.  There was no trace of her.  He waited, the emptiness growing larger with the passage of each day.  For weeks he remained alone, alert to even the slightest hint she was returning.

She never did.  Squib never found out why she had gone.  He remained motionless for a long time.  The emptiness inside had grown.  It had even brimmed over, filling his body and extending beyond.
